Job Summary: The Tax Operations team provides our clients with expertise regarding complex payroll tax matters. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build and enhance our core function. We’re looking for someone to lead a team of Tax Operations professionals and ensure we seamlessly execute tax filings and payments on behalf of our clients. This position reports to the Tax Operations Director. You will support the Tax Operations Director by fulfilling responsibilities that sponsor our team’s overall success and assist Team Leaders with daily priorities.
Role Responsibilities:
Skillfully carry out tax fulfillment project management duties such as scheduling/workload distribution and monitoring deadlines
Maintain knowledge and understanding of current tax initiatives, including but not limited to changes in tax laws and regulations
Oversee Tax project lifecycle for semi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, and annual filings and ensure that tasks are executed from project start to finish
Mitigate project risks before kick-off and work with the Tax Operations Director to develop workarounds/resolutions as needed
Complete quality control reviews after each project lifecycle and report results to the Tax Operations Director
Guarantee integrity and accuracy in cash flow reporting/documentation and tax fund reconciliations
Develop team metrics and reports to identify and assess areas of improvement
Drives internal business initiatives and projects to gain strategic advantage and promote organizational growth cross-functionally
Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of staff; actively work to promote and recognize performance
Conducts regular 1:1 meetings and performance reviews with all team members and provides constructive feedback and opportunities for growth
Complete administrative tasks such as hiring/interviewing, approving timesheets & PTO requests
Document issues that require involvement from product and technology teams
Submit and track various data requests
Escalate issues as necessary

Education and Experience:
At least four years of experience in payroll and taxes (required)
Experience in a technical service role
College experience (degree strongly preferred)
Experience administering client information in a database
Advanced technical and computer skills – Microsoft Suite, CRM, Adobe Acrobat, internal databases
Ability to interpret technical file schemas
Ability to critically read and construct meaning to numerical information and data
Ability to construct meaningful reports from various data
